Community

Rainbow Geeks is first and foremost a community. We are a bunch of queer people who want to have fun geeking out about our passions and whatever catches our attention.

Rainbow Geeks is open to everyone: Trekkies and Star Wars nerds, Marvel en DC, Gay, Pansexual, Asexual, Trans, Non-binary, Neurodivergent, ... everone quirky and unique. Enough snowflakes for a blizzard of squee.

Community Guidelines

  • Respect each other
Rainbow Geeks is a Safe(r) Space. That doesn't mean that passionate discussions aren't allowed, just that we ask to always be respectful. We champion diversity and uniqueness, allow people to have different opinions. Respect boundaries!
  • Be Geeky and Queer
Rainbow Geeks exists on the overlap between all that is queer and all that is geeky, two terms we refuse to define. Not everything needs to be on topic, but try to keep things in that spirit.
  • Talk to a volunteer if there's an issue
Our Knights and Squires of the Queer Table are there to resolve issues. If something is bothering you, talk! Communicate!
  • Keep (self-)promotion in the appropriate places
We love hearing what you're passionate about, but Rainbow Geeks isn't an advertising platform. We've got channels on the Discord and regular posts in our Facebook group where you can share your everything. If you're organising something that you want to share more generally, talk to a volunteer first please (obviously this is mostly about commerical things ... if you've made a cool drawing of a gay dragon, we def want to see it!)
  • Keep NSFW to the NSFW places
We've got some younger members, so refrain from posting anything too spicy in the public places. We've got channels on the discord for anything you wouldn't show at work.
  • Keep words secret, keep them safe
Some of our people aren't publicly out. If somebody shares something personal in Rainbow Geeks, don't tell anybody else unless with their explicit permission.
